I'm an interior designer - a qualified one – so I think I might know a bit more than the housewife-turned-interior-designer. In fact, all those TV makeover shows give the illusion to people that decorating is easy and fun, and anyone can do it.
Well, the reality is quite different. Things always go wrong, don’t fit or don’t work, builders don’t turn up, don’t finish the job or they do a bad job… and DIY soon becomes your full-time job! The fun actually stops after the shopping part!
Anyway I will put together a guide to the best shops, sites and décor ideas.
Today I’ll recommend DIY Together – an online community where people discuss decorating tips & ideas. There is a forum to network,a marketplace to sell and buy second-hand stuff, articles, reviews, list of home stores etc..
